Rosneft Begins Drilling Of New Production Well In Vietnam

Russian oil and gas firm Rosneft, through its subsidiary Rosneft Vietnam, has commenced drilling of a new production well off the southern coast of Vietnam.

Drilling of the new well, known as LD-3P (Lan Do field), is part of Block 06.1 development.

The well will be drilled to a total depth of about 1,200m along the well bore.

According to the company, the Lan Do gas field is estimated to have initial natural gas reserves of 23 billion cubic metres.

In an effort to develop additional reserves of the field, Rosneft is planning to build underwater infrastructure objects and connect them to operating offshore objects of Block 06.1.

A two-phase 370km-long Nam Con Son pipeline will deliver processed gas and natural gas liquid from the Lan Tay platform to the shore.

“According to the company, the Lan Do gas field is estimated to have initial natural gas reserves of 23 billion cubic metres.”

The two-phase technology will enable the simultaneous delivery of gas and gas condensate to the onshore processing facility.

Additionally, Rosneft is planning to undertake sidetracking of the PLD-1P exploration well on Phong Lan Dai field (Wild Orchid).

The well is set to be reclassified as a production well.

Discovered in 2024, Wild Orchid is also located within Block 06.1 and has commercial gas reserves of 3.4 billion cubic metres.

The company has selected Japan Drilling (JDC) to conduct drilling on Lan Do and Phong Lan Dai.

Rosneft Vietnam operates both projects with a 35% share.

Rosneft Spins Drill Bit Offshore Vietnam

The oil company has set the target depth of the well at about 1200 meters, with sea depth at the drilling site being around 160 meters.

According to Rosneft, the Lan Do field has initial natural gas reserves of 23 billion cubic meters. To develop the field further, Rosneft plans to build subsea installations which will be connected to the Lan Tay platform in the block.

Processed gas and natural gas liquid are delivered from the platform to the shore by the two-phase Nam Con Son pipeline that is 370 km long – the longest two-phase pipeline in South East Asia. Due to the two-phase technology gas and gas condensate are delivered to the onshore processing facility simultaneously.

During the 2024 campaign in Vietnam, Rosneft is also looking to drill a sidetrack well, next to the previously drilled PLD-1P exploration well on Phong Lan Dai field (Wild Orchid) –  also located within Block 06.1. Target depth of the well is 1300 meters. As a result, the well will be reclassified as a production well.

Japanese rig

Rosneft discovered the Wild Orchid field in 2024, a project which saw Rosneft engaged as an operator of an international offshore drilling project for the first time. According to Rosneft, the field revealed commercial gas reserves of 3,4 billion cubic meters.

” Offshore infrastructure objects are being constructed on Lan Tay platform in order to deliver gas and natural gas liquids from the Wild Orchid field, Rosneft said on Tuesday,” Rosneft said.

Drilling on Lan Do and Phong Lan Dai will be carried out using the semi-submersible drilling rig Hakuryu-5, owned by the Japanese company Japan Drilling Co., Ltd (JDC).

Rosneft is currently involved in gas and condensate production projects on two offshore Vietnam blocks and is also a participant of The Nam Con Son Pipeline project.

Rosneft Vietnam B.V. owns 35% share in the Block 06.1, which contains three gas condensate fields – Lan Tai, Lan Do, and PLD (Wild Orchid). The fields are 370 km offshore in Nam Con Son basin. Sea depth in the areas reaches 190 meters. Initial gas reserves of the fields are about 69 billion cubic meters, according to data available on Rosneft’s website.

Bước 1: xử lý dớn

Dớn trụ, dớn bảng, dớn đĩa trước khi ghép các bạn ngâm nước sạch 2-3 ngày sau đó ngâm nước vôi (tỷ lệ 100gr pha 10 lít nước) trong 30 phút rồi vớt ra rửa lại vài lần bằng nước sạch, để ráo nước.

Bước 3: Tách, cắt tỉa

Lan giống mua về bạn dùng dao sắc, mỏng tách nhẹ nhàng thành từng cụm 2 giả hành một (1 thân già, 1 thân tơ). Khi tách chú ý kẻo cắt vào mầm ngủ ở gốc. Sau khi tách xong dùng kéo đã được vệ sinh sát khuẩn cắt tỉa hết rễ già cũ. Có thể ngâm thuốc khử trùng, kích rễ, chống sốc ở giai đoạn này (tùy theo điều kiện mỗi người). Nếu bạn trồng số lượng ít thì có thể ngâm hoặc không, trồng số lượng nhiều nên ngâm để đảm bảo tỷ lệ sống cao.

Bước 4: Cố định lan vào dớn

Dùng ghim U (tự tạo bằng các đoạn thép) cố định lan vào dớn. Lưu ý bạn nên ghép sao cho phần gốc lan cố định sát vào bảng/trụ dớn để tạo điều kiện tốt nhất cho rễ mới ra bám được vào dớn. Có thể dùng thêm 1 ghim nữa cố định thêm phần thân phía dưới giúp tránh gió lay gốc nếu cần.

Bước 5: Bổ sung thêm một chút dớn trắng ở gốc để tăng thêm khả năng giữ ẩm cho rễ

Sau khi hoàn thành các bước trên bạn treo giò lan lên khu vực mát mẻ, tránh nắng trực tiếp, chăm sóc tưới 1-2 lần/ngày. Sau khoảng 1 tháng rễ lan sẽ mọc ra

Three gas condensate fields – Lan Tai, Lan Do and PLD (Wild Orchid) are located on the Block.  The field are 370 km offshore in Nam Con Son basin. Sea depth in the areas reaches 190 meters. Initial gas reserves of the fields are about 69 billion cubic meters.

Block 05.3/11: Rosneft Vietnam B.V. holds 100% share in the projects and is the Project operator. Licensed site is located in the region with confirmed oil and gas potential and borders on currently developed fields of Block 06.1. The current estimate of the resources of Block 05.3/11 is about 28 billion m3 of gas and 17,5 million tons of gas condensate. First exploration well was drilled in June, 2024, drilling of the second one has started in March, 2024.

Rosneft Pipeline B.V.  holds 32,67% share in Nam Con Son Pipeline project under which gas and gas condensate from Nam Con Son basin offshore blocks is delivered to the Onshore processing facility. After that the products are delivered to a complex of gas turbine power stations to produce electricity. Commercial reserves discovery on Block 05.3/11 will make it possible to use the project infrastructure for production delivery to the end-user.

In August, 2024 Rosneft Vietnam B.V. had reached an important milestone in its operations – 15 years of accident-free marine activities. Not a single case of staff disability was registered during this period. This is one of the best results in the industry.

In the year 2024 Vietnam Ministry of Industry and trade had honored Rosneft Vietnam B.V. with a Medal of Merit for successful operational and exploration activities in the country. The significant contribution to Vietnam oil industry was honored by a Certificate of Merit from PetroVietnam company in 2024.
